Immensely Missed this Year
Of the many changes in this impactful year, the inability to spend time in very special Boca Grande ranks right up there with the health affecting ones. I am especially thinking about the times shared in appreciating the many speakers who have come to our island to share their knowledge and experiences. 0f these many leave us with important book ideas. We remember Lisa Wingate at our wonderful library and the emotions elicited by “Before We were Yours”. We all remember hearing the amazingly talented Rebecca Eaton and then reading “Making Masterpiece”. In the past, Amor Towles gave us all the interesting complexities of ” A Gentleman in Moscow.” At the Community Center, who can forget Martin Walker, who, while speaking about world affairs also led us into sharing his “Bruno” adventures.
Thanks to the Johann Fust Library Foundation and other Island venues for all the book ideas. May there be many more.
